Great movements of God throughout church history almost always begin with prayer. It is through prayer that God gets the glory and credit for the work He desires to do, and the church gets the direction and provision for the work they are called to do. The most effective way to serve Hollywood is first on our knees. It is through prayer and guidance from scripture that opportunities for the gospel will be revealed. The purpose of the Hollywood Prayer Tour (as with our other prayer tours), therefore, is that our prayers will be informed through:

Researched Insight- Examining Scripture and the history and culture of this city will fuel our prayers. For this reason, every night will consist of both Historical overviews of Hollywood and Biblical Teachings. The entire team will then be broken up into smaller teams who will all rotate going to and praying for many districts within Hollywood. We will also be praying for the existing churches in Hollywood that they would grow, be strengthened, and continue steadfast in the faith. There are many amazing churches in this city and we are privileged to come alongside them in the great work of gospel ministry.

Responsive Insight- By observing people in Hollywood we are motivated by Christ’s love and compassion which will lead us to pray for them. Also, as we walk and pray with eyes open, we become immersed in entire communities in which we ask God to show us the idols of the culture (every city has them ).

Revealed Insight- As we are firmly grounded in the Word of God we believe that His Spirit will make us aware of the needs of the people around us and how to pray for and meet those needs. We will also be trusting God to lead us by His Spirit in our conversations with the people that we meet along the way. These are opportunities that only walking, observing and praying can create.

The long-term goal of the prayer tour is that we stir up a continuously prayerful attitude for Hollywood as we seek to serve the city in measurable, tangible, gospel-centered ways.
